FAQ

What is Boxeoguide?

BoxeoGuide.com is a database of professional boxers that can be sorted by weight class, trainer, promoter, or country. Each fighter is rated in two categories, Ceiling and Action. Ceiling represents the highest level a fighter is projected to achieve from this point in his career until he retires. Action represents how entertaining the fighter is to watch. Each fighter has a profile page that includes a thumbnail description of his style, links to his Boxrec page, links to his Twitter and Instagram profiles if known, and a listing of any notable fights he’s been in since the beginning of 2020.

The scales for Ceiling and Action are as follows:

Ceiling

  • 5: Pound For Pound (Top 10 in all of boxing)
  • 4: Champion (Best fighter in the division, top 25 in all of boxing)
  • 3: World (Top 5 in the division)
  • 2: Contender (Top 25 in the division)
  • 1: Fringe Contender-Gatekeeper (Top 100 in the division)
  • 0: Club Fighter

Action

  • 5: Very exciting fighter
  • 4: Above average
  • 3: Average (approximately 50% of fighters are in this category)
  • 2: Below average
  • 1: Not exciting

A fighter rated 1 in action usually has a style that will produce a below-average action fight even if he’s in with an exciting fighter. A fighter rated 5 in action has a style that will produce a good action fight even if he’s in with a fighter that isn’t exciting.

Every list on the site, whether it is filtered by country, promoter, trainer, or weight class, is sortable by column if you click on the column header. If you click a trainer’s name, you will be given a list of all the fighters in the database he trains. If you click a promoter’s name, you will be given a list of all the fighters in the database for that promotion. If you click a country, you will be given a list of every fighter in the database from that country.
